For many of us entrepreneurs – the bold move came when choosing to leave corporate America and jumping into our own business. But, for many – there are times when we question the intelligence of the move we thought would bring freedom and riches with the added benefit of becoming our own boss.
All businesses have ups and downs and entrepreneurs are no different. What separates the bold entrepreneur from the brash one are a couple of daily practices to ensure you self-manage – particularly when your mood goes south.
Step One: Remember to take mood checks throughout the day. Notice your mood when you wake up in the morning and regularly check your mood throughout the day to see if you are in an Optimal Operating State or not. If you are in a down mood with fear and doubt circling – notice what negative beliefs that are in your head.
Step Two: Write out the limiting beliefs and ask yourself “is there any truth to these beliefs?” Survey says that limiting beliefs are made-up with no physical truth to the statements that are pulling you down.
Step Three: Flip the negative belief into a powerful assumption that – when crafted right – shifts your mood to one that is more optimistic, hopeful and open to possibilities.
Step Four: Create a Powerful Assumption Logbook where you can keep these positive statements visible for you to reference. For years, top performers have reported the ability to shift their moods quickly by simply logging and referring to these Powerful Assumptions when life throws a curveball.
The job is simple but profound – just be open to noticing your mood. By doing so – you can be at choice.
Be Bold!
