A deliberate action seeded in core beliefs and desires and fueled by an internal sense of possibility and adventure.
A bold move is measured not by its size, scope or even its impact on the world, but by the degree to which it is motivated by possibility thinking and aligned to the authentic, personal values of the move maker. Bold Moves require preparation; exploration, research, and thoughtfully planned execution. By contrast, moves that are motivated by fear, doubt and reaction to external circumstances, we call Brash Moves, Barely Moves and Background Moves.
Bold Move Makers
People who are purposeful and deliberate in what they do. They act based on guidance from their deepest inner truths. The emotions that motivate Bold Move makers are hope and possibility. Bold Move makers penetrate the essence of a circumstance and then align themselves to that essence from the core of their authentic nature. They trust their ideas because they check them out, and the moves they make are often ingenious and highly beneficial. Bold Move makers create successes both short and long term.
Bold Move Makers consistently attain and sustain an Optimal Operating State of being. This is like the sense of easy flow described by Olympian champions. One can begin activating this state by learning to distinguish between internal voices of fear and doubt, which we call Inner Critters, and one’s individual, intuitive voice of possibility which we call The Whisperer.
To be a bold move maker, one must know who one is in a very comprehensive way because it is only from a place of deep self-recognition and self-honoring that one can act in accordance with one’s true wisdom.
First Bold Move Skill: Identify who you truly are without all of the overlays provided by family, friends, school, work, and the many other external authorities you are exposed to everyday. Self-ignorance and self-denial are actually promoted by most educational institutions because their job since the start of the industrial age, has been to norm people into a standardized workforce. Don’t color outside the lines. Unique individuals need not apply. Drilling down through your normed version of self requires courage and commitment, but the reward of an Optimal Operating State makes it worth doing.
