I know I’m a day late with this, but it is being composed on the real Earth Day.
Here’s a green heart for the Earth. Green Alert for growth, for green, growing things. Green Alert for photosynthesizing pure sun energy into food and flowers. Green Alert for open heartedness. It’s challenging to stay in touch with this one in a time when there is so much division, so much contention everywhere. So much intentional fear-mongering Red Alert energy.
I wonder what would happen if a Green Alert had us open our hearts just for one hour, let alone one day, to the beautiful planet that sustains us all, for the variety of fauna and flora that delight our imaginations and fill our eyes with wonder and sometimes tears. Green Alert to delight in the many colors of skin that have us humans showing up like a veritable, amazing rainbow. Happy Earth Day, every day! Green, Green, Green Alert.
