It’s difficult to find any terror in the thought of a Green Alert!
Let’s build upon the green-with-envy factor that is a variety of the greed that comes when we diminish ourselves through self-ignorance and self-neglect and then try to fill ourselves up with material things. Maybe, seen in this way, a Green Alert is something that we feel inside, but do not recognize for what it is.
On the color wheel, red and green are opposite each other. So, if level Red Alert signals the height of terror, maybe level Green Alert signals it’s opposite. And what would that be?
Oddly enough, red and green are both symbols of the human heart. In America, we are so familiar with the red version called a Valentine. Interesting, that this heart is traditionally pierced by an arrow, Cupid’s arrow of love – a terror that is inflicted when we project our love onto someone else, or when they inflict theirs upon us.
In Eastern spiritual systems, the color of the heart is green, as in the heart chakra, a green, internal center of love energy that is minus any piercing projectiles. The green heart is symbolic of love of self––oh not that ego-centric or self-centered kind of love––but the still, quiet love of self that comes when we think to respectfully nurture ourselves and build ourselves strong enough to truly nurture others. When we care to know ourselves well enough that we don’t go unconscious in our behaviors toward others. We’re not very good at that in America. Our motto is “No Pain, No Gain” after all. So are we back to green with envy then? Comparing ourselves?
Let us ponder these opposites through this day and night and see where it takes us, either in our individual dreams, or in tomorrow’s missive!
