Media and our government give us Red, Orange and Yellow Alerts to monitor levels of fear––or terror. We’ve been looking at the possibilities of Blue Alerts to give us a sense of possibility thinking. But let’s step back just for a moment and look at fear again, through the colors of a chain reaction that happens when we let fear take us captive.

Fear and doubt, lead to self-denial, because we become afraid to give ourselves what we really want.

Self-denial has us feeling deprived and it kicks in our ego stuff. We puff ourselves up so that we can feel better even if we are depriving ourselves of what we really want and need.

The ego is voracious, grabbing onto whatever material things it can to fill the void created by self-denial. So ego enhances greed.

And greed has us green with envy when we can’t fill our material coffers. So there you have it, a rainbow fashioned from fear. That’s a dark rainbow, yes?

Tomorrow, we’ll look at a different view of green. This color, in fact, may hold the keys to the whole freedom-from-fear possibility spectrum.
