We received a comment on one of our blogs recently, an expression of anger complete with expletives. Neither Allan nor I knew quite how to respond, so we just didn’t, but now that I’ve had time to think about it, I do want to say that I can really understand how someone who is completely caught in Critterville might be very upset by the notion we propose, that we actually can, if we want, choose a life of ease and grace.
The person commenting was angry because he had chosen a life where the pressures felt too great to bear, where he was ordered about endlessly and felt completely controlled by the world around him. So the question here is, “Why choose that kind of life?” And one answer is, “Because there doesn’t seem to be any choice.”
But there is always choice, always. It only feels like there isn’t because we believe that is true, and we believe it because we haven’t learned how to see the world from the perspective of possibilities, only from that of doing what we should, or as we’re told.
I vote for ease and grace in life, and that can be realized in various ways. One can learn to bring possibility thinking and thus the possibility of ease and grace, into any endeavor, any environment. any moment. That is the choosing how we react way. It’s an inside kind of choosing. Another way is to choose for ourselves, the world we wish to inhabit. Go find the job where the boss isn’t overbearing. Turn off the bad news, just turn it off. Paint the room pink if blue gets you down. That is the change what you choose way of opting for ease and grace, the outside kind of choosing.
I choose to finish the business plan – tomorrow, I think. Ease and grace, ease and grace!

VERY WELL DONE …… CONGRATS TO BOTH OF YOU
